I still keep some … WebJan 26, 2024 · The only mag I store loaded us a 10/22 box. They are cheap and easily replaced. And I have a number of them. It doesn't take long to load a mag anyway, except the drums for the GSG-16. The stripper clips for the SKS can hold 5 rounds off the springs and here, the mag is pinned to 5 rounds so I guess you could say I have 14 clips loaded
WebJan 21, 2012 · A magazine can be loaded for months or years as long as it contains a high quality spring. I have had AR15 mags loaded for years that still function just fine. If you can, I would remove the spring and compare it against a new spring to see how much 'set' it has taken. WebJul 9, 2024 · How long can a PMAG stay loaded? In early 2011 I bought dozens of Windowed Gen 3 PMAGs and put 28 rounds in each, put the dust covers back on, and stored them in a Pelican case. I haven’t touched them in almost 10 years. WebJul 11, 2011 · If this is the case (and it is with all well made magazines), then there is no harm in loading a magazine to its full capacity, or storing it in that state. EDIT: Also, reps from magpul have stated here, that they have tons of mags stored up that have been loaded since the mag was made.
WebFeb 5, 2010 · 699 Posts. #10 · Feb 4, 2010. I keep the Pmags in my active shooter rig loaded with 28 and have not had any problems. I guess I would use the cover for long term storage, but don't think it would really be necessary.
WebFeb 24, 2024 · The feed lips on some magazines can spread if the magazine is stored loaded, but Pmags come with a cover to prevent exactly that issue. Look at it this way: The magazines that I carry at work are loaded at all times. Some of those magazines have been stored loaded for nearly a decade, and have cycled literally 10's of thousands of rounds. hilax freight serviceWebNo magpul confirmed if you use dustcovers it will take the pressure off the feed lips and can be stored loaded indefinitely. It wasnt as noticeable as the pmag was but it was generally hard to insert into the magwell. But, if you downloaded the mag to 26 or 27 rounds it would load and feed fine. Giving up 1 or 2 rounds simply takes away from the user’s capabilities and with an in-spec rifle, you should not have issues. Many feel it is important to load a standard A15 magazine to full (30 round) capacity. Load 28-29 hilawod characters
